Stones, plots and blogs
I entirely failed at sending one of these last week - I had a week up on Hadrian’s wall with almost no internet access, which turned out to be a bit of a blessing. This is me at Castelrigg stone circle on the way back.
There are a few posts over on Druidlife that are about my walking experiences during that week. I’ve also got content from David Bridger - who is going to be a regular contributor to the blog from here. David and I have been writing fiction together for over a year now, and it’s lovely broadening that into the Pagan aspects of our lives. You can read David’s first post here - https://druidlife.wordpress.com/2023/06/01/land-veneration/
Over on Patreon I’ve started a new novel, which feels a bit like a high wire act with no safety net. I’ve got a few months of content in hand on this one, I have not written the whole thing. I’m just going to go ahead and assume I can pull it off. It’s speculative, and shows up for people who are at the dustcat level.
On the music front, I’ve got my first gig as Jessica Law’s viola player in July. I’m very excited about this. I first encountered Jessica through The Magnus Archives (amazing horror podcast). She’s a brilliant singer-songwriter and someone I greatly enjoy working with.
For Hopeless, Maine I’m currently turning real people into islanders - here’s the latest - https://hopelessvendetta.wordpress.com/2023/06/09/marcus-j-brookes-resident/ Anyone interested in becoming an islander needs to send me a photo of themselves in which they look like they might possibly live on the island. some kind of silly flash fiction piece will then follow.
