While Halloween is often associated with ghosts and horror, it is definitely also fairy season. It’s at Halloween that the fairy horde rides out to sacrifice Tam Lin, the folk enthusiasts amongst you will know. So, this weekend is very much about fairies, but there will be plenty of spooky things as well.
This week I’ve mostly been working on gothic stuff - all being well this will be out for Halloween, so watch this space for news on that. Next week I’ll be diving into a novel, a non-fiction and possibly some other things as well. I’m going to be busy.
Over on the blog there’s an excerpt from David Bridger’s In A Hedge Druid’s Grove, and some more seasonal Paganism.
I thought I’d start doing shoutouts for substacks I follow. If you like the Minoans, you should check out Laura Perry.
For Druids, this time of year often inclines people to think about their ancestors. While we’re considering the dead, it’s good to think about out relationships with the past, and with the people who came before us. As I have a book on this subject I thought I might as well get in a plug for it! You can find it places people sell books, it can be ordered via bookshops, or you can get it directly from the publisher -https://www.collectiveinkbooks.com/moon-books/our-books/Druidry-Ancestors
I love all things ancestor related! Can't wait to check out your book, thank you!
Thanks for the recommendation!
