I didn’t manage to send a newsletter last week - I went down with covid which meant I was both too ill to face writing one, and had very little to share anyway. This week, despite being full of snot, there’s quite a lot to share.
First up, a selection of song snippets from the recent Swing Rioters gig at Weston Super Mare
Over on the Druid Life blog I’ve reviewed Their Heart a Hive - a gloriously queer novel with a lot of bees in it. I’ve also written about the importance of joy and how to live a Druid life.
I’ve been putting together a talk for the online bit of PF Scotland’s upcoming conference - details on that when I have them. I’ve been booked to do a Pagan talk at a fairy event in Gloucester in September and it looks like I’ll be talking in Cambridge in June next year. It’s nice having a few more Pagan gigs coming in. I’ve also got band gigs coming up - both Swing Rioters and Jessica Law and the Outlaws have September gigs, while I’ve got October and December gigs lined up for Carnival of Cryptids.
Jessica Law has just put out a video for Angels have a thousand eyes - you can see my a couple of times in the background! I’m not playing on the track, the recording pre-dates my being in the band.
I’m still full of snot - other people seem to be getting off lightly with this summer’s hot new take on covid, but it has pummelled me. I’m still moving slowly, more than a week on. But, I am moving, fresh plotting is afoot and there are plenty of cool things on the horizon - including being poet in residence for Heart Festival.
Hugs if you want 'em. Glad you're finally on the mend. The summer covid wave has been pretty nasty here, too.
