Live things, limp things
I saw this marvellous lot last night - musically brilliant, funny and like nothing else. A string quartet in space! Innovative staging, surreal fights, puns, original music, and a dash of creative industry politics. Do go and see them if you get a chance. Also I am in awe of people who can dance and play a musical instrument at the same time.
This week I have mostly been the limp thing alluded to in the title, so I don’t have a huge amount to report. Progress has been made on the next poetry collection, and there’s plenty going on blogwise. I’ve written about orchids, enchantment, inclusivity, gratitude and resistance . David and I both shared poems this week - mine about antlers, his about the sea.
Back to the live things… this is a photo taken last week as Carnival of Cryptids did a set in Gloucester. This isn’t the full group, but we have a flexible membership. It was a lovely day, and the set went well. We’ll be singing next at Woodchester Mansion on the 5th of May. I’ll be accompanying Keith Errington for a set at that, Jessica will also be playing solo on the 5th, and Robin Burton’s Swing Rioters are ending the afternoon. We’ll be playing as Jessica Law and the Outlaws on Monday the 6th and also on Monday, Sarah Snell Pym will be doing poetry and stories. So the Cryptids will be providing the bulk of the day programme!
