I'm an outlaw now
This happened last Saturday, to my great delight. That’s Jessica Law on the right of the photo, then me with the viola, my son James doing backing vocals and percussion, and Keith Errington with guitar. Jessica has been through a few sets of Outlaws, but right now this is what Jessica Law and the Outlaws looks like. We’ve got our first gig as a group at the steampunk event in Gloucester on the 1st of July, and a few gigs lined up beyond that.
In case you aren’t familiar with Jessica’s work, here’s a video.
At the Gloucester event, I’m also having my first outing as a drag king - something I’ve wanted to do for years. We’re doing a play, and I shall be The Drag King in Yellow. This is funnier if you’re familiar with The King In Yellow. The play has been written by Mark Hayes, and hopefully there will be photos. It’s going to be very silly indeed.
After that, my next gig is at Raising Steam in the Midlands, and I’m also going to be at Festival at the Edge on the Sunday.
David and I have been exploring magical tools on the blog this week - https://druidlife.wordpress.com/2023/06/16/magical-tools/

We’re back to work on Wessex Mysteries as well.
Other than that, I’m mostly working on a gothic novella. This is a collaborative project and rather exciting. More news on that as it develops.
Hoping this finds you well, and in temperate conditions!
Nimue.
