There are a few more days to go in this ebook sale, and I have a number of titles in it - wander to my author page for the books in question - https://www.collectiveinkbooks.com/moon-books/authors/nimue-brown
It’s been an odd week, mostly spent in a shed in Kent. It’s quite a nice shed, and I am managing to cook with only a microwave. Keith is out being a knight (he does have some very unusual jobs) but this is why I’m here.
I’ve managed to keep up a steady supply of blogs from the shed. My favourites this week are this collaboration with Imelda Almqvist - https://druidlife.wordpress.com/2023/08/15/crow-knowledge/
And this bit of goblinry - https://druidlife.wordpress.com/2023/08/18/goblin-romance/
I’ve got some gothic fiction written, had a close encounter with a 1600 year old oak tree and sung to seagulls.
I rather unexpectedly ended up singing at Dover Castle over a couple of days. I do have a fair selection of Childe ballads that suit a castle setting, and a handful of medieval songs, and a willingness to shout tunefully against the wind. It was a lot like busking, although people did stop and listen, a few students filmed me (am I on tiktok now?) and the seagull seemed to like it.
I learned that liripipes are very cool and can be worn in many different ways - some more practical than others, but that you really don’t want to get a wasp inside the hood with you.
Next week I’m at the Heart Festival near Bath on the Friday, and after that it will be Folk at the Folk in Gloucester.
