Further notes on my entirely ridiculous life
Jessica Law and the Outlaws are playing at this gig in Gloucester, and we’ll be around during the day at The Folk of Gloucester. Carnival of Cryptids are singing there on Sunday the 29th.
It has, frankly, been a ridiculous week, even by my usual standards. The Hopeless, Maine kickstarter for vol 3 in hardback, is live - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hopelessmaine/hopeless-maine-1-3-sinners-a-graphic-novel-series and I’ve been doing everything I can think of to promote it. This is a gothic, steampunk sort of graphic novel which I wrote. If you are able to post the link anywhere, that would be deeply appreciated. Kickstarters are always hard - this is by no means my first. I will gladly do shout outs and shares for other people too, tap me up if you ever need that for a project.
I’ve written about Hopeless, Maine Sinners - this post about learning how to write comics and a more general one on Druid Life about the Hopeless, Maine project, for those who are new to this. https://druidlife.wordpress.com/2024/09/09/hopeless-sinners-2/
Also on the Druid Life blog I’ve been talking about autumn windfalls, forgiveness, and issues around commuting.
In other news, my Moon Books interview is now live and you can see/hear me talking to Rachel Patterson for the podcast. That photo below is startlingly old - 2011 I think, when the bags under my eyes were a lot smaller.
I have a tale in the latest Harvey Duckman flash fiction collection - you can get that by subscribing over here - https://harvey-duckman-is-alive.ghost.io/out-now-through-the-letterbox/ or from Amazon. I’ve just hear that Ill have a story in their forthcoming post apocalypse anthology as well - those will be longer short stories and that one will be available as a paperback.
This week I’ve been through the final proof read of Fast Food at the Centre of the World. That, would have been quite enough on its own without all of the everything else, but life does not deliver things neatly and at sensible intervals. I’ve also been working a little bit on Murder Village.
Next week is not going to be quiet or gentle, as the kickstarter continues, and there will be proof reading to do on fast Fashion at the Centre of the World and I need to get more Murder Village written. The part of me that is a bear feels fairly sure that instead of all this, I should be stuffing my face with berries, and getting ready to sleep for a few months.
