Fiddling about
So here I am, fiddling at The Folk with Keith last weekend. There’s a blog post about it over here. We’re playing again tomorrow (13th July) at Raising Steam, then we’re on that evening as Jessica Law and the Outlaws, and playing again in that configuration on Sunday, so it’s going to be a busy weekend.
Also on the blog, there are thoughts on how to be softer, and dealing with despair, plus politics and nature within us. Over on the Hopeless, Maine blog we have some encouraging news from Dr Abbey.
The aforementioned Jessica Law has launched a Patreon account, with a snail podcast and other such joys. You can check that out over here - https://www.patreon.com/JessicaLaw
And on the off-chance that you’d like to check out what I do on Patreon… I’m over here - https://www.patreon.com/NimueB
On the writing front it’s been one of those weeks where I’ve chipped away at a number of things, but not in a way that results in having much to say for myself. It’s all going well, in a not having any significant news sort of style. I should be handing in a book next week, so I can tell you all about that, all being well. One of the amusing things about doing a weekly newsletter is tying to figure out what to say in advance, and what I really ought to leave for the week when it actually happens.
Raising Steam usually puts out an album. Keith has submitted a track for this year’s offering, so hopefully ‘ll have some news about that next week - and some bandcamp links to direct you to. Last year’s is over here -
It’s got Keith’s Albatross song on it, and the song Demon Devices, written and led by my fabulous offspring, James. I just scream on that one, but mostly specific notes rather than more free form screaming.
Onwards!
