I’ve not done a lot of work this week. There were a few days in a yurt on a Shropshire hillside which was absolutely magical. It was a bit like doing a Druid Camp, only without any drumming. It is, definitely, a lot easier to feel spiritual when in a quiet, beautiful space with no internet, no work to do and no time pressures. I wrote a poem, and contemplated a lot, and it was good (photo at the bottom).
There was also some surprise singing with the offspring (photo above) when an event we were at turned out to be down a booked musician. It’s good that we can pull songs together at no notice, and James led on one (Crazy Man Michael) that he’s never led on before, and we got away with it.
This weekend is Stroud Steampunk and I’ll be out with the viola on Saturday night as one of Jessica Law’s Outlaws, and then at 1pm on Sunday, Keith and I are luring people into the world of Hopeless, Maine. The odds are that by the time you see this it’ll be too late anyway, but here’s the Saturday night ticket link just in case. All the other bits are free entry.

Over on the blog I’d like to direct your attention towards this post on magic and Druidry https://druidlife.wordpress.com/2023/08/03/magic-and-druidry/
I’ve also reviewed Maria DeBlassie’s book which is out next week - https://druidlife.wordpress.com/2023/08/04/conversations-with-the-tarot/
A reminder that there are lots of ebooks in my ko-fi store - fiction, poetry and non-fiction. You can have those for free, or pay what you like if you feel so inclined.

There are eight of my books traditionally published by Collective Ink and you can get those directly from the publisher, as well as online booksellers. https://www.collectiveinkbooks.com/moon-books/authors/nimue-brown
Given the option, I’d rather be in this position right now (as below) not needing to think about much. I could have done with more days, and it’s made me realise how desperately tired I’ve been, and how far from relaxed I’ve been as well. This year has brought a lot of challenges, but it’s also brought opportunities for joy and peace unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before.
