Carnivals, kickstarters and everyday Druidry
Rather unexpectedly Carnival of Cryptids are now singing for the Saturday night of Gloucester’s fairy event this weekend. We’re in Mary de Crypt, doors at 6.30 and I expect there will be tickets on the door. Jessica Law has been obliged to miss this one, but we Outlaws are also Cryptids, and we’ve pulled in three other excellent people to sing with us. Headline act Ravenhymn look amazing, its going to be quite a night.
As Davey Dodds had to pull out of Sunday at the same event, Keith is covering that slot and I’ll be playing violin for him. I’ll also have a book stall, I’m doing a talk on the Saturday, and Cryptids are on again on Sunday. On Monday I shall lie in a gibbering heap for a while.
The kickstarter funded, not long before the deadline. I cried. It’s been like a kickstarter would be if someone in Hollywood made a film about it. Do not recommend. But, its done now, and i am hugely grateful to everyone who backed it and helped get the word out. We’re now changing things up on the Hopeless, Maine side, having some clarity at last about how things will work from here.
Over on the Druid Life blog I’ve written about trauma, forgiveness, cultivating Druidic qualities, confidence as magic, and taking my own writing more seriously.
In other news, I am through edits for Fast Fashion at the Centre of the World. I’ve also started work on Everyday Druidry - which will be my next non-fic Patreon project. This is going to be an upbeat sort of book about living a more inspired life, finding your joy and bringing the Druidry into your everyday life.
