Love, steampunk and fiddling
This week I’ve released How to fall in Love as an ebook - this is a poetry collection exploring different kinds of love. You can simply pick up a copy here. Pay what you like if you are feeling generous, or enjoy a freebie. If you’re new to what I do, there’s a whole array of poetry, fiction and nonfiction in my ko-fi store. If you’d like to buy a print copy of the poetry book, those are available via Amazon.
It’s been a busy week - last Friday I talked about creativity and the bard path at the Pagan Tribal Gathering. On Sunday I went to the steampunk event at Blists Hill - which was lovely. Shockingly, Keith and I did this as punters rather than working at the event. It’s a rather wonderful, luxurious feeling to just go to something for fun.
There’s plenty going on over at Druid Life, including these posts about forgiveness, work and burnout. On the Hopeless, Maine blog I’ve had a little collaboration with Dr Abbey and there’s an entertaining new tale from Keith Errington as well.
On the fiddling front, I shall be Live at the Folk with Keith Errington on Saturday the 6th July. Do come along to Gloucester if you’re around, we aim to start about 1pm and are doing a couple of sets. Free entry. Keith will mostly be singing his own songs - folky influenced, reflective singer songwriter stuff, some comedy, some steampunk elements. This will be the first public outing for my electric violin as well. Photos next week, and possibly some videos, depending on what I can get set up on the day,
This week I’ve also been working on a script for a murder mystery evening. I have an excellent team for this, and one venue already lined up plus several more in mind. The aim is to have an entertaining script for the setup, scope for audience participation, interaction and sleuthing, and enough wriggle room to cope if people don’t really get in for that side of it. I’ve got a dead person, and motives, and quite a lot of comedy. Now I just need to plant enough clues and run it past some test readers.
After this weekend it will be Raising Steam - which is an excellent festival, I heartily recommend it.
